O’Neal riders victorious at the MXGP of Russia

Stand-out performances of the weekend were: Nicholas Lapucci #211 riding for ASTES4-TESAR Yamaha Official and DIGA-Procross rider Dylan Walsh.

They dominated the podium with 1st and 3rd overall

Lapucci:

“It was just the perfect weekend for me, it start pretty well from the time practice where I take 2nd, then on first moto I started not really good. I was in 11th but I come back strong to take 3rd. Second moto start was good, got into 2nd place but touched my handlebar with another rider and went back to 5th but again came back stronger to 3rd but in my mind there was just one goal to take the podium! For sure the most important was to pass Walsh to take 1st overall! I want to say thank you to my team Astes4Tesar, Yamaha Racing, Monster Energy, O’Neal, my family and all the sponsors that supported me!”

“Just starting to put the pieces of puzzle together and soon I’ll be at 100% but I’m happy about my progress and being 2nd in the Championship.”

Also shout out to Mike Kras in the EMX300 riding for the GL12 Racing KTM Team.

Kras managed to hold on to the red plate and the overall lead in the EMX300 Champs. Despite this Mike was reflective on his performance in Russia, not being up to his usual high standard (of winning!) on the day:

“If you are going for the title at the end of the year, a 5-2 is not good enough. I have good days, but Saturday was not one of them if I can be honest. Sunday my riding went better, but still lost points to Anderson. I will focus and work hard to come out on top for the next European round in GB!”
