O’NEAL LAUNCH MIPS® TECHNOLOGY IN FURY RL HELMET
O’Neal are proud to present the Fury MIPS® full-face helmet – bringing the MIPS® rotational impact protection technology for the first time at a great price. At under €200 RRP, O’Neal believes this represents the best value MIPS® full-face offering in the market today.
The Fury MIPS® continues O’Neal’s philosophy of developing innovative products that look great and work flawlessly at affordable prices. The MIPS® Brain Protection System is a helmet-integrated, low-friction layer designed to reduce rotational motion transferred too the brain from angled impacts to the head.
Put simply, it offers the rider better crash protection so you can rider harder and push your limits further, safe in the knowledge that your helmet will work if needed! The helmet is being worn around the world by O’Neal’s grassroots riders, in both regional, national and international WC races.
Bringing the products and technology that are worn by top racers to the everyday rider and making them accessible is something that sets O’Neal apart from many top-end race-focussed brands with unobtainable products.
Taking the existing FURY RL design and incorporating the MIPS® system has given improved safety with its unique impact absorption technology:
The MIPS® technology
Multi Directional ImPact System
Setting a new standard in helmet safety
Unique, patented technology mimics the human brain
How does MIPS® work?
MIPS imitates the brain’s way of protecting itself
Giving the helmet a low-friction layer between the outer shell and liner
Sliding to absorb more energy than standard construction
Strain in the brain
The graphic on the left was generated using a finite element computer model based on measurements obtained from nine accelerometers in a Hybrid III crash test dummy head.
The dummy head wearing a helmet was subjected to an angled impact using the MIPS test rig. The model illustrates strain in the brain from a similar angled impact when the dummy head is wearing a helmet without MIPS and a helmet with MIPS.
The helmets are in stock now. Contact your local dealer or check out our online partners while stocks last!
