Interview with Luc Ackermann

O’Neal team rider Luc Ackermann broke his femur during a training session a few months ago. We were talking with Luc about the injury and his comeback.

Hey Luc, you broke your femur a couple of months ago. What happenend?

„Mid of September I had a foampit session and practiced some new tricks for the NIGHT of the JUMPs contests in Jerez and Cologne. I did a pretty good Volt and went for another one. Unfortunately the bike came not the way it should and I felt on the bike.“

Did you know directly, that it was a bad injury and what was your thought when you heard your injury?

„I felt directly that my femur was broken. Of course I was extremely frustrated. I had such a good season with several podiums at the NIGHT of the JUMPs series. I almost had two new tricks, I wanted to present at the NIGHT of the JUMPs in Cologne. But that’s the sport. We have to deal with injuries. So I am looking forward to the next season.“

When do you think, you will be back on the bike, back at the NIGHT of the JUMPs?

„It’s now five months and the heeling is pretty good. But with a broken femur, you are out for about 6 months. Of course, it depends on heeling, practice and the weather. But NOTJ Krakow is scheduled for my comeback.“

Thanks for the interview and get well soon!
