SL1 helmet strap upgrade

Your safety is our highest priority

During some of the production batches of our O'NEAL SL1 helmets has been subject to a modification of the chin strap material. This has no effect on the stability of the strap, but its smoother surface may allow some self adjustments.

In individual cases, this can lead to an inadequate hold of the helmet in the event of a crash. For additional security, our aim is to provide you with a locking ring free of charge, which you can easily retrofit.

Helmets with the following order numbers are affected:

13315, 13338, 13503, 13520, 13555, 13563, 13661, 13718, 13748

You can easily check whether your helmet is from one of these production runs is by checking the helmet label. You can find the label under the cheek pads.

To check your helmet please proceed as follows, if the ring is already installed, you do not need to take any further steps.

Remove the chin pad and check whether your chin strap already has the metal ring installed.

If the ring is not present, remove the cheek pad; underneath you will find the sticker with the production data.

After receiving the locking ring, you can easily install it yourself. Insert it into your chin strap as shown in the video.
