SETTING THE BAR SINCE 1970

50 YEARS FASTER

Since the development of motorsports in the 1960s, O'NEAL has been a pioneer and trailblazer in the field of MX clothing.

At the same time, Jim O'NEAL has been a passionate MX rider since the birth of the sport. Not only Jim, but also his buddies, longed for better equipment that was precisely tailored to their needs. It was precisely this desire for higher performance that spurred Jim on, he wanted to give his buddies and himself more. It was for the same reason that O'NEAL decided to enter the mountain bike market in the late 80s, offering products in Europe and the USA.

Product development has been a central aspect of the O'NEAL philosophy from the very beginning. O'NEAL was strongly inspired by the bikes people rode and the tracks they rode on to perfectly match their products. O'NEAL has always emphasized innovative production processes and material techniques to guarantee all riders the support and safety they need to push the boundaries of what is possible.

OUR INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT HAS HELPED SHAPE THE INDUSTRY.

This philosophy still plays a very important role in O'NEAL product development today. A good example of this is the IPX® (impact foam technology) developed by O'NEAL, which is used in all O'NEAL protectors. The highlight is the IPX® ACells technology. The system impresses with its 360° rotational and axial movement capability and damping properties and outperforms most other technologies on the market. The innovative thinking in our product development has helped to shape the industry.

O'NEAL made its first foray into mountain biking in the 1980s with the launch of the AZONIC brand and the first MTB-specific product line for clothing, protectors and bike accessories. The sport continued to develop and riders pushed themselves and their bikes to ever-increasing levels. O'NEAL's commitment to the sport of mountain biking, coupled with its dedication to product development, has been highly successful. We can proudly say that we have helped the sport to grow and become more popular.

Even though today's focus is increasingly on the needs of enduro and trail riding, O'NEAL remains true to its roots in downhill and freeride. The adaptation of the O'NEAL product range in recent years has reflected precisely this development.

IT WASN'T ABOUT MAKING MONEY. WE WERE REALLY INTERESTED IN DEVELOPING BETTER PRODUCTS THAT WE COULD RACE WITH.

O'NEAL was the first brand to introduce the innovative Fidlock® magnetic closure to the MTB market. The zipper functionality of our "zip-off" knee protectors was awarded an innovation prize.

International Downhill World Cup and Enduro riders currently represent the O'NEAL brand. Alongside them, many young talents are already wearing our products. O'NEAL understands the needs of riders who want to get the most out of themselves every day. We support them in what they do best and strive to drive the MX and MTB sport forward in its development.

EVEN AFTER MORE THAN 50 YEARS, O'NEAL CONTINUES TO PUSH BOUNDARIES AND SET NEW STANDARDS.

O'NEAL remains true to its philosophy (today and in the future) - the ongoing endeavor to develop ever higher quality and more innovative equipment, whether for riders with or without a motor on the bike.
